A young coed hard at work! Welcome!

Hello my name is Kate Lewis, I am studying Technical Theatre at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Though My emphasis is Stagecraft, I enjoy every aspect of Tech Theatre. This semester one of the classes I am enrolled in is The History of Fashion and Dress, it is an AWESOME and very informative class! Tara Maginnis, Ph.D. has created the class and has assigned us the task of creating a web page for our clothing era of choice. I chose Coeds of the 1920s, because I have always had a love affair with 1920s fashion and, as a college student, I thought it would be fun to see what female students were wearing in the 1920s.

I hope you enjoy!

This dress is from the 1920s. This dress is from the University of Alaska Fairbainks Theatre Department's Exclusive collection of antique costumes.

This Garment: Pinky-beige straight dress with orange accents. It has an embroidered low waist. The emboidery contains white flowers that have been splashed with orange, brown, and green dyes. The dress is sleeveless. There is an orange and beige tie below the neck and at the waist. In the center of the tie at the waist is a long and slender triangular pin made of pinky-beige plastic with three diagonal depressions on its face. Each depression has been painted with a gold stripe.

I have dated this garment as being from: 1927.
